A stockout doesn't show up as an error — it shows up as sales that quietly never happen, while your ads keep sending traffic to a product nobody can buy. Here's how to stop it.
For each product, calculate units sold per day (last 30 days ÷ 30). This tells you how fast you're burning through stock.
Current stock ÷ velocity. A product with 8 days left needs attention if your supplier takes 14 days to deliver.
Reorder when stock hits velocity × lead time, plus a safety buffer (20–30%) for demand spikes. That's the level where, if you order now, new stock arrives just before you run out.
A stockout on your top revenue product hurts far more than on a slow mover. Rank by revenue at risk and protect the top of that list.
Doing this by hand across dozens of products is where it falls apart. Restockly calculates all of the above from your Shopify data and ranks every product by the revenue you'd lose to a stockout.
